awesome outreach at Wingate Falls

Today we held an outreach at the Wingate Falls apartment complex in Acworth. 36 kids prayed the prayer of salvation!!! Praise the Lord! We aren't sure exactly how many prayed for the first time, but God does. Who knew some popsicles, dedicated volunteers, and a fire truck could be used so mightily. There is rejoicing in heaven tonight.

And it's a.... BOY

We're having a boy!!! Our first child is due July 1st, and they tell us it's a boy. I've never met him, or seen him, or spent time with him, but I love him sooo much.

Something More??

I'm truly excited about Dreambuilders launch last week and the progress on our new children's center and outreaches. The other thing that has me stoked is our new series, entitled "Something More." My favorite thing about this series is the freedom it gives me. Think about it, if I am preaching on something God has for us that is more than we could ever imagine and way beyond anything the world has to offer, I'm free to preach on any and all of the promises God has for us.

Last week we discussed God's unfailing, unflinching, unending love. I related the story of the prodigal son and the loving father. The son left his father to live it up in Vegas(figuratively speaking) and spend his inheritance early. When the son ended up busted and disgusted, he thought about his father's house, and decided it was time to come home, even if he could no longer live as a son, he thought perhaps his father would take him in as a servant.

The father saw his son from afar, and threw a huge welcome home party. he took him back as a son, because the son's failure did not change the father's love.

The message is clear, our Heavenly Father welcomes us home, no matter our past mistakes or failures. He welcomes us with open arms. No matter how we roam, the Father's house is only one step away, and of course His love never left us. His love is "something more" than we can ever imagine.

This Sunday we'll continue the theme of "Something More." We may explore God's favor, or power, or goodness, or faithfulness, or promises, or ????? God has so much more in store for our families, our communities, our churches, and our lives. Come discover more than you ever imagined.

Launch Day

Months ago I remember looking at a calender and deciding to launch the church in late January. It seemed so far away then. Now, January is here and the Launch is imminent! We have so much going on it's amazing. Building out the children's area, printing our promotional materials, getting a sign for our location, and a bunch of other things are all happening at the same time. I'm so excited about seeing God work at DreamBuilders. I know he has good things in store for the entire community. Be praying that God would draw people to be a part of DreamBuilders and that all of the behind the scenes things will come together to make a difference in people's lives.

If you just got a flyer or door hanger and came to this blog to see what this is all about, DreamBuilders is a church dedicated to loving people and seeing God move in their lives. Life can be a challenge, and God never intended for us to face the challenge alone. Come discover other singles, couples, and families who are willing to be with you on the journey.
